Dr. Swarup Kumar Sahoo is a highly accomplished Co-founder and Chief Scientist at Deepfence Inc. With over 11 years of relevant experience, he has conducted extensive research in various areas such as Compilers & Computer Architecture, Software & Hardware Reliability, High Performance Computing, Computer Security & Privacy, and Machine Learning. Dr. Sahoo is currently leading the research work in ML and Security at Deepfence Inc. His primary focus is on detecting multi-stage multi-vector cyber attacks, which is crucial in today's digital landscape. He has been instrumental in developing Deepfence's Trustable Application Overlay (TAO) architecture, which has been recognized by Gartner as a Representative vendor in protecting containerized applications. Dr. Sahoo has worked with some of the Fortune 500 enterprises, helping them to deliver services securely and protecting them in production. He has also co-founded Vercept, where he developed Deepfence V1, a platform that provides exploit proofing containers using SW + HW level primitives. He experimented with making containers memory and control flow violation safe and hardware + software approaches to ensure CFI, memory protection using Intel MPX, and other low-level goodies. Dr. Sahoo holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from The Ohio State University, and a B.E. in Computer Sc and Engg. from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy. He also completed his +2 in Science from BJB College, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Sahoo is a Research Scientist and an expert in Machine Learning. He has published several research papers in top-tier conferences and journals and has been a speaker at various industry conferences.
